2000 was to be a breakthrough year for Korg and Vox.

Prior to 2000, Korg/Vox had a rather limited product line comprised of several high-end reissues of the AC30 and AC-15 along with a few pedals and accessories. As the new decade dawned, the product range would be greatly expanded. Vox was about to introduce the Cambridge 15 and Cambridge 30 amplifiers that would retail in the popular "sub $500" price range along with reissues of the Vox Teardrop and Phantom shaped guitars of the 1960s.

Korg planned a marketing campaign for the 2000 model year that featured a new tabloid style product catalog (see upper right). The cover of the year 2000 "World's Finest" catalog featured an illustration of a bikini-clad female sitting on top of an AC-30. Vox supplied a promotional kit to their authorized dealers that included a package of these catalogs, a red satin Vox dealer banner and a five foot tall standee featuring a near life size image from the cover of the new catalog (see upper left).

The catalog included a tongue-in-cheek article about the effects of playing through a Vox amplifier. From page six of the 2000 model year Vox catalog:

"Lonely? Amazing new sound attracts Devil Women! MEN! Are you tired of staying at home on Fridays nights sitting in the garage with a case of beer and reruns on the tube? If so, let Dr. Jennings (a reference to Tom Jennings, founder of Vox) patented sound technology help you to woo women....Devil Women! Simply follow the instructions and you too will have hoardes of Devil Women clamoring around your front gate."
