Vox partnered with the legendary audio accessory manufacturer, Audio Technica, to produce a series of battery powered active headphones with amPlug technology that plugged directly into a guitar or bass. The "AC-30," "Lead" and "Twin" amPhones for guitar included amp modeling, chorus, delay and reverb. The "Bass" amPhone was modeled after the tone of the Vox AC-100 while adding a compressor and a "Bassilator" circuit to simulate cabinet resonance. When not connected to a guitar or bass, amPhones could function as a conventional set of head phones for use with a stereo system or mp3 player. A ⅛" plug adapter was included for use with portable devices. |
