The Vox V9158 Pathfinder Amplifier (1999-2002)

The V9158 Vox Pathfinder was a small, 15 watt solid state amp introduced by Vox in 1999.
Although solid state, this amp had an amazing tube like tone. In addition to gain, volume, treble, and bass controls, the V9158 also included tremolo and a gain boost button. These additional effects could be accessed remotely using the optional VFS2 foot switch. The jack for the VFS2 foot switch was located on the main control panel between the power switch and the tremolo controls.
An 8" special design Vox "blue" ceramic speaker was mounted inside the open backed cabinet. The rear panel included a headphone jack.
It had all the Vox cosmetics right, including black basketweave vinyl, smaller -V-O-X- logo, brown Vox diamond grill cloth and a Vox branded strap handle.
The V9158 Pathfinder amp was replaced in 2001 by the Vox V9168 Pathfinder 15 and the Vox V9168R Pathfinder 15R with spring reverb. Aside from a change from brown to black Vox grill cloth and a few new features (including line out and extension speaker jacks), the V9168 Pathfinder 15 and V9168R Pathfinder 15R models were nearly identical to the V9158 Pathfinder they replaced. Made in Korea.
