The Vox Escort 30 Lead amp was developed by the Dallas Arbiter (CBS) ownership of Vox. It was introduced to the Vox line in 1975.

It featured a 30 watt solid state amplifier and a 12" Vox heavy duty speaker made by Fane. The amp had three channels, Fuzz, Normal and Brilliant. Each channel had a single input and a separate volume control.

Bass, Middle and Treble controls were included in the Brilliant channel. A Fuzz Level control was also included.

The amp also included a remote foot switch for the fuzz tone.

The back panel of the Escort 30 Lead was made of 1/4" thick masonite, painted black. The model name and voltage requirements were silk screened on the back panel.

The components that make up the power supply for the Escort 30 Lead (mains transformer, diode bridge, and filter capacitor) were screwed directly to the wood on the inside left side of the amplifier. This sort of construction would be unlikely to pass US electrical safety codes.

The Escort 30 amp remained in the Vox product line even after Rose Morris purchased Vox from Dallas Industries in 1979. As Rose Morris had not yet developed manufacturing facilities of their own, Dallas Industries continued to produce the Escort 30 under contract for Rose Morris in their Shoeburyness facilities.

There were only two significant changes made to the Rose Morris era Escort 30. The color of the control panel went from neutral gray to blue/gray and the silk screened manufacturer and serial information on the back panel reflected the new "Vox Limited" company name adopted by Rose Morris. Escort 30 amps produced by Dallas showed "Vox Sound" as the manufacturer.

The amplifier shown in the photos at left is a Rose Morris era Escort 30. The manufacturing dates on the control pots suggest it was produced in 1980 or 1981.
