General Information
The VoxAd Classifieds are currently separated into 12 categories which can be found listed on the VoxAd Main Page. Please choose the category which best describes your desires. Posting items in improper classifications will not only waste our valuable server space, but will also result in your ad possibly never even being seen. Please choose your categories carefully and properly.
Once you have chosen your desired category, you will be presented with a page which indicates your category and four choices which include; Search for items in category, Browse the entire category, Post an item in a category and Modify, delete or renew a previously posted item.
The following describes your choices:
- Search for items in category: Choosing this will allow you to search your chosen category for specific items. For example, if you are only interested in a VOX AC-10 Twin and you are not interested in any other items this would be the proper choice.
- Browse the entire category: If you are not looking for any item in particular or you just want to browse the current category this would be the proper choice. This selection will present the entire database for the category for you to view. Note: As the database grows, this may be a very large file. Use with caution.
- Post an item in a category: This selection will allow you to post a personal private party advertisement in the chosen category. Dealers are NOT allowed to post any advertisements in any classifications.
- Modify, delete or renew a previously posted item: This selection will allow you to modify, delete or renew your previously posted advertisement. All postings require you to select a login and password which will then allow you to modify, delete or renew your ad at any time in the future. All ads are initially posted with a 120 day time limit and are then automatically removed. A reminder email will be sent to you five days before your ad is deleted at which time you may choose to renew your ad.
Filling Out Posting Forms
To keep our ads consistent and easy to read it is important that you follow the posting instructions below:
A word about etiquette, all ads should be posted using proper upper and lower case alphanumerics. It is considered screaming to write in all caps and has been proven that people tend not to read text that is written in all upper case.
Each category has two areas in which you may need to fill out forms. These are; To Post a New Advertisement and To Modify, Delete or Renew a previously posted advertisement. Remember, all text fields are required.
A brief description of the text fields are as follows:
- Name: Enter your name.
- Your e-mail address: Enter your e-mail address where you wish to be contacted. Because all text fields are required, if you do not have a personal e-mail address put something like none@this.time in this field. Be sure to include some other type of contact information in the Text of Your Ad area such a phone number or snail mail address if you choose not to use a valid e-mail address.
- State/Providence: Indicate your state or providence in this field so prospective buyers/sellers will have a reference point as to your location.
- Country: Indicate your country in this field so prospective buyers/sellers will have a reference point as to your country location.
- Item Is: Indicate your item in this text field. You should input your items' model number or name only. Example, if you are selling a VOX Super Beatle you would only need to input Super Beatle here. This field should contain the shortest possible description you can give to your item. Do not provide any description references in this field. You will provide descriptions in the Text of your ad area.
- Keywords: Input keywords which best describe your item here. These are the words which the VoxAd search engines utilize to search for qualifying matches. Select the words that you would search for if you were looking for your item. Separate your keywords by commas. Do not use full sentences or phrases. Keywords are not posted in your ad, they are hidden and are utilized only by the search engines.
- Text of your ad: Input the text of your ad here. It is not necessary to indicate your item name, your name, your e-mail address, State or Country because you will have done that in the respective text fields previously. Simply describe your item fully and indicate your price. The script will format your ad if all the proper information is input as indicated.
- Login: Because you can modify, delete or renew your own ad, you will need to choose a login word. Every ad must have a unique login name even if you post multiple ads. Please remember your login words!
- Password: Again, you can modify, delete or renew your own ad, so you will need to choose a password word. You may use a common password if you choose. Please remember your password! When and if you choose to modify your ad you may opt to keep the same password by leaving the password field empty. You may also change your password at this time if you wish. In either case you will be required to input your Login.
All fields except for Keywords and your login and password will be posted on the Internet for all to see. If you do not want this information available online, DO NOT post any advertisements!
