The Scorpion Amp: Control Panel


Introduced in 1968, the Vox Scorpion preamp and control section were the same as used on the Vox Berkeley III with one small modification.

Both amps had two channels with volume, treble, and bass controls. The first channel on both amps had reverb and tremolo. The difference: the Scorpion had a two button foot switch (reverb/tremolo), while the Berkeley III had a three button foot switch (reverb/tremolo/MRB). The 60 watt RMS power amp section (previously used in the Vox Royal Guardsman) was connected to four 10" Vox Gold Bulldog speakers.
