The Beatles at The Savoy

This publicity shot of The Beatles taken at The Savoy Theater shows The Beatles with what appears to be Conquerors and a 460. There is, although, some argument whether the amplifiers John and George are using are Conqueror's or Defiant's. Either way, these amplifiers were assembled by VOX specially for this photo opportunity.

The Beatles did utilize Conquerors and Defiant's in the studio during recording sessions in late 1966 and 1967.

That even The Beatles had no problem utilizing solid state amplifiers should put to rest the old worn out "Solid state vs. Tube" controversy conclusively.
