The bigger brother to the Conqueror, The Defiant is esentially a Conqueror with two extra power transistors and a HF horn in the speaker cabinet.
Controversy has surrounded this amplifier concerning whether The Beatles used Defiants or Conquerors during their 1967 recording sessions of Sgt. Peppers and Magical Mystery Tour. The amplifiers are so similar in size and construction that photographic records cannot for certain reveal the true answer. If past VOX/Beatle history is applied here, a vote for the Defiant would be a good bet over the Conqueror as it is known that The Beatles were usually presented with VOX's biggest and best. |
