AC-30 Extension cabinets were AC-30 combo cabinets without the control panel cut out. They were available as open backed or closed back versions. The closed back or compression models have a much tighter sound similar to Marshall cabinets. The back of closed cabinets were reinforced with over 1" (25.4mm) of solid wood.
