AC-30 Extension cabinets were AC-30 combo cabinets without the control panel cut out. They were available as open backed or closed back versions. The closed back or compression models have a much tighter sound similar to Marshall cabinets. The back of closed cabinets were reinforced with over 1" (25.4mm) of solid wood. The photo above shows an early sixties smooth vynide AC-30 extension cabinet sans corner protectors.
