The AC-15 was first produced in 1958 and came in a number of configurations as many of the VOX models did. It was the first amplifier produced by the newly formed Jennings Musical Instrument company. The AC stands for "Amplifier Combination" and is a nomenclature which VOX continues to use to this day.
Not as famous as its bigger brother the AC-30, the AC-15's place in history is well founded. This was the amplifier The Shadows and The Beatles and others utilized before 1963. This amplifier is sought out today as a light weight alternative to the AC-30 as it is perfect for small clubs and easy to handle. VOX is currently planning to reissue a single 12" version of the AC-15 soon. |
