The VOX Showroom!

The 7120 and The Beatles.

The VOX 7120 Amplifier sold by Jennings Musical Industries (JMI) of Dartford Kent England under the tradename VOX is perhaps best known for its association with the Beatles who recorded many of their songs comprising their highly acclaimed record album Revolver and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band with this amplifier. The Beatles also used these amplifiers on their first leg of their 1966 World Tour when they visited Germany, Japan and the Philippines.

It is perhaps the least understood VOX model primarily because of its rarity. It has been advised by a reliable source that a total of thirty production models were made and a total of 24 amplifiers left the manufacturer's premises. What follows is a short history of the amplifier, its technical specifications, and its use by the Beatles.
