Vox AD-100VTH Head with a North Coast Music/Vox licensed Small Box AC-50 speaker cabinet and unique chrome trolley - In mid 1964, the Beatles headed out to conquer the music world with their music, charm, and wit. Their tour took them through several European countries and onward to Hong Kong and Australia. George and John played through their small box AC-50 heads and speaker cabinets, as they did earlier that year in Washington DC, but now these amps also sported a unique chrome roller trolley. This trolley supported the amp head with one vertical tube coming out of the hand wheel area, just as the trolley Vox constructed for Paul McCartney's AC-100 bass rig.
North Coast Music has now recreated this great look and sound by utilizng the chassis of a new Vox AD100VTH amplifier mounted inside a special thin edge head enclosure, a AC-50 small box speaker enclosure, and an exact duplication of the original chrome swivel trolley, all being hand crafted in the North Coast Music facility by Doctor Vox.

The reissue Vox licensed, NCM manufactured "small box" AC-50 speaker enclosure is a special version of the AC-30 speaker enclosure. It featured brown Vox diamond grill, a black plaque covered in vinyl to which the logo is affixed, and "perfect" vinyl corners with no plastic corner caps. Other than missing the Midax horn (which is no longer available or necessary as unlike AC50 heads from the early 1960s, modern Vox amps have plenty of treble) our cab is faithful to the original design. It is constructed of baltic birch plywood and includes two 12" "Black Dog" speakers, custom manufactured for North Coast Music by a amjor American speaker manufacturer and designed to recreate the tones of that famous English made "blue alnico speaker" at a fraction of the cost. This speaker is proprietory to North Coast Music, and available no where else. Cabinet impedance is 16 ohms.
Both head and speaker cabinet are covered in authentic British "H" pattern vinyl. Brown Vox diamond grill is standard, black Vox grill is optional. The speaker cab, less trolley, is approximately 27.25" x 20.25" x 10.375", 45 pounds. The amp head is approximately 19.25" x 7" x 10.5," 15 pounds.
