What if I already own an AD50VT? Can I buy just the brown or black Vox grill kit for the AD50VT from North Coast Music and install it myself?
Unfortunately, no, this grill kit is not available for customer installation.
The installation of this grill kit requires a full disassembly of the amp. It also requires that ten holes to be precisely drilled through the speaker (baffle) board. These holes accomodate machine screws that hold the specially made plywood grill board assembly covered in brown or black Vox grill cloth to the amp. This is not a simple, velcro type of grill assembly, but instead, it is rather a fairly difficult installation that was developed by our "Doctor Vox" exclusively for the AD50VT customers of North Coast Music.

The pure tube sound of Valvetronix is more affordable than ever! And now, you can get your AD-50VT in either brown or black Vox grill cloth.....exclusively at North Coast Music! This is a special order amp.
The AD50VT features the same patented Vox Valve (tube) reactor as used in the larger Valvetronix amps. The Valve Reactor uses a 12AX7 triode vacuum tube with an actual low wattage power amp circuit with an output transformer and dummy speaker load to create true tube tone. This power amp actually reconfigures itself to the characteristics of the amp model you have chosen, be it Class A (like a Vox AC-30) or Class AB (like many Fender and Marshall amps). This Vox Valve Reactor then drives a specially damped 50 watt RMS solid state amplifier.
Eleven high quality effects are built into the AD50VT. These include phaser, chorus, flanger, tremolo, rotary (leslie type sounds), delay, reverb, and auto wah. The AD50VT also allows some combinations of these effects to operate simultaneously.
Eleven realistic amp models using sophisticated modeling technology are included: Vox AC-30TB, Vox AC-15, Tweed 4x10, Blackface 2x12, Boutique Clean or Overdrive, US High Gain, Numetal, UK 70s, UK80s, and UK Modern.
Adjustable Output Power: The AD50VT allows you to adjust the output power of the amp from 1 watt to 50 watts, allowing you to lower the volume of the amp without losing the sense of drive unique to tube amps.
Line/Headphone jack allows you to record directly or playback to the board or listen through phones with the speaker off.
Speaker Out Jack allows you to connect an extension speaker cabinet to your AD50VT.
Optional Accessory: The Vox VFS2 footswitch (not included) allows you to switch between User Program 1 and User Program 2, and also turn on or off the selected effect.. Many have asked about using this stand with other amps than Vox. For those people, here are the dimensions of the amp tray: The absolute total maximum width of the amp tray is 24.1". The distance between the inside of the two parallel amp support tubes is 8.5", or 10" to the outside of the same tubes. The stand raises the amp about 15" above the floor.
