Vox AC-30CC2 Combo Amp, FAWN VOX REISSUE VINYL, brown Vox grill, with two Vox GSH12-30 speakers
North Coast Music takes the speakers and chassis out of a new Vox AC-30CC2 or 2X amplifier and installs them into a handmade, all baltic birch AC-30 enclosure hand built by our own "Doctorvox" and covered in Vox fawn (light tan) 90's reissue vinyl. The plastic corners are left off the amp, as was done on fawn JMI era Vox amps in the early 1960's. This hand built cabinet features lock joints and a bolted baffle, as was common in 1960s era Vox enclosures. This transformation does not affect the warranty of the amplifier.
The price includes a two button footswitch (reverb/tremolo) with LED lights and a removable cord. An optional protective cover is available, but not included. Some recent Vox literature indicated that the cover would be included, but that turned out to not be the case.

What is the tonal difference between the Vox Alnico Blue and the Vox GSH12-30 speakers offered in the AC-30CC amps?
The Vox/Celestion Blue speaker has a bit more present mid that breaks into a very warm overdriven distortion when pushed hard. The Alnico Blue was the only speaker offered by JMI Vox in the 1960 era AC-30 amp, so it is the speaker you heard in all the earlier Beatle recordings. The Alnico Blue is rated at 15 watts RMS.
The GSH12-30 is a sort of Celestion "Green Back" tone clone made specially for Vox by Wharfedale, and it has a more "trebly" top end than the Alnico Blue. This speaker is rated at 30 watts RMS.
