Sophisticated modeling technology combined with the VOX Valvetronix Valve Reactor power amp circuit that uses a 12AX7 tube. Fusing traditional VOX design elements, an advanced preamp, and the Vox Valvetronix 12AX7 tube-driven Valve Reactor output amp circuit, Vox has created the first hybrid amp worthy of the AC15 namesake. Split-panel, analog preamp design offers two channels (Normal and Overdrive) for a broad range of sounds.

VOX Valve Reactor provides unique hybrid amp design. Hybrid guitar amps typically use vacuum tubes in the preamp section, and power ICs or solid-state components in the power amp section. Using today's technology, it is possible to shape an ideal tone in the preamp stage without using vacuum tubes, as demonstrated by the many well-regarded compact effect units on the market. However, it remains a difficult task to obtain the warm, fat, distortion – and the sense of sound pressure that is the true essence of guitar sound – without employing a vacuum tube in the power amp section. To achieve this goal, the AC15VR is equipped with Vox Valve Reactor circuitry, widely acclaimed in our VOX Valvetronix modeling guitar amps and ToneLab multi-effect processors. The Valve Reactor places a 12AX7 dual-triode vacuum tube in the power stage to shape the signal, recreating all of the interaction and harmonic content of an all-tube power amplifier.The looks and sound quality of the legendary VOX AC-15 The AC15 has been legendary presence not just among VOX amps but among all guitar amplifiers for over half a century! Two channels deliver a diverse spectrum of sound The Normal channel creates the VOX's distinctive chimey clean tone, and is also able to produce a pristine uncolored sound that's great for driving multi-effect units or stomp boxes. The Overdrive channel provides two choices. The first, OD1, provides a natural, vintage character ideal for a defining a blues-based sound. OD2, on the other hand, spits out a more aggressive, high-gain distortion excellently suited to today's modern playing. Either way, the versatile VR Series lets you craft a tone that is familiar and authentic, yet uniquely all your own.

NCM-056 AC15VR Chrome Rigid Amp stand, amp not included
AC-15CC1, AC15C1, and AC15VR Chrome Rigid Stand - Rigid stand as seen used by The Beatles in early 1960's, manufactured exclusively by North Coast Music. Amplifier sits on top of stand. Many have asked about using this stand with other amps than Vox. For those people, here are the dimensions of the amp tray: The absolute total maximum width of the amp tray is 24.1". The distance between the inside of the two parallel amp support tubes is 8.5", or 10" to the outside of the same tubes. The stand raises the amp about 15" above the floor.
