Replacement Vox Guitar Pickups as used on the Vox MkIII 50th Anniversary Guitar

Gary: Just a quick note to let you know that the Vox Mark III Guitar arrived last Thursday in A-1 condition -- not a scratch, ding, nick, mar, scuff, or anything close...the term mint comes to mind. The fit and finish are far superior to anything else I've seen in a very a long while, and I can be a perfectionist to a fault.

Sorry I didn't write to you sooner, but I didn't have a chance to really crank it through an amp until Sunday -- and wow...I mean WOW! I played with all combinations of settings and volumes, first through a Vox AC15H1TV (which fits just fine on the AC15 stand), then through a vintage Fender Bassman. It sounds superb through both. Over time, my ears and brain have become very used to the Fender and Gibson sounds. So the Vox was an aural revelation, a *completely* different animal that really delivers the distinctive mid-1960s sound so associated with British bands. To describe it as "treble-y" or chime-like doesn't sufficiently communicate the rich, full, bright tone I'm hearing. I think I simply have to leave it at, "You know what I'm talking about!"

The pickups are quiet yet very responsive, the neck's a bit thicker than what I'm used to, but extremely playable (your set-up and intonation are both perfect), and it's a Vox Teardrop...so it doesn't get any cooler than that!

Thanks again so much for all your good efforts in lining me up with a beautiful instrument that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I'll definitely be back for any future needs!

Kind regards,

Vox Replacement Guitar Pickup - The exact pickup installed in the Vox MkIII Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Guitar

Vox designed these special pickups for their prestigious 50th Anniversary Limited Ediition guitars, and North Coast Music is proud to be the only dealer in the world authorized to offer these pickups as a replacement part.

Like their 1960s JMI Vox (UK made) counterparts, these pickups deliver true Vox tone and appearance. These single coil pickups feature a chrome plated steel trim ring and a vacuum formed square cornered pickup cover. Like the originals, the holes in the pickup covers for the six pole pieces are drilled by hand.

The internal mounting dimensions of these pickups are: 3 3/8" wide, 7/8" wide, and about 5/8" deep, including the height adjustment screws. If installing these pickups into a vintage Vox guitar, please check these dimensions carefully to make certain that these pickups will fit in your existing pickup holes. Once the pickups are soldered into the wiring harness in your guitar, they are no longer returnable, so please check these diimensions carefully. Screws to mount the pickups to the body of the guitar are neither included or available from North Coast Music.
