VOX Mark III Limited Edition Guitar
Gary: Just a quick note to let you know that the Vox Mark III Guitar arrived last Thursday in A-1 condition -- not a scratch, ding, nick, mar, scuff, or anything close...the term mint comes to mind. The fit and finish are far superior to anything else I've seen in a very a long while, and I can be a perfectionist to a fault.
Sorry I didn't write to you sooner, but I didn't have a chance to really crank it through an amp until Sunday -- and wow...I mean WOW! I played with all combinations of settings and volumes, first through a Vox AC15H1TV (which fits just fine on the AC15 stand), then through a vintage Fender Bassman. It sounds superb through both. Over time, my ears and brain have become very used to the Fender and Gibson sounds. So the Vox was an aural revelation, a *completely* different animal that really delivers the distinctive mid-1960s sound so associated with British bands. To describe it as "treble-y" or chime-like doesn't sufficiently communicate the rich, full, bright tone I'm hearing. I think I simply have to leave it at, "You know what I'm talking about!"
The pickups are quiet yet very responsive, the neck's a bit thicker than what I'm used to, but extremely playable (your set-up and intonation are both perfect), and it's a Vox Teardrop...so it doesn't get any cooler than that!
Thanks again so much for all your good efforts in lining me up with a beautiful instrument that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I'll definitely be back for any future needs!
Kind regards,
Robert W

In the ‘60s, VOX crafted a line of distinctly designed, beautifully detailed electric guitars. Now we are proud to present a limited edition replica of one of these iconic instruments recreated with original details using the same unique parts. At VOX our main goal is to offer products of the finest quality, so we have improved the playability and specifications over those of the originals to satisfy today’s demanding musicians.
Sculpted of a northern hardwood body with maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, the distinctive VOX Mark III is constructed in the U.S.A. With sleekly styled fittings, like chrome knobs and original style pickup covers, it looks as good as it sounds. The teardrop shaped Mark III comes with two single coil pickups and a fixed bridge. The fretboard has a special inlay in it that says "57-07" to commemorate 50 years of Vox from 1957 to 2007.
Each guitar comes with an owners manual that also serves as a certificate of authenticity. While the series is not numbered (as in "#5 of 100" made), the certificate proclaims that this is a series limited to 100 guitars for the entire world.
First made famous by Rolling Stone Brian Jones, the VOX guitar continues its lively tradition, currently seen on tour with Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band’s Little Steven.
| To ensure collectibility of this special Vox 50th anniversary guitar, only 100 will be produced for the entire world. North Coast Music was delighted to be informed by Vox that we were chosen to receive a few more of these highly collectible limited edition guitars. |
