1964 brought a torrent of new sounds and music from the UK to America. Behind these sounds was Vox, a seven year old company whose innovative guitars and amplifiers changed the music world.

First, there was the Beatles. Soon after came the the Rolling Stones with their music inspired by the blues from America. Both groups were powered by Vox.

Bill Wyman, bassist of the Rolling Stones, walked on the stage with a bass guitar never seen before. The body was shaped like a droplet of water, the body a thin line semi acoustic with one "f" hole and an arched top, and the neck was long and slender. This unique bass came to be known as the "Wyman Bass," and has become one of the most collectible Vox guitars in history.

Fast forward to 2007. In celebration of their 50th anniversary, a new limited edition bass has been issued by Vox that had all the attributes of that original bass played by Bill Wyman. Only ten of these basses will be offered to the US market by Vox, and North Coast Music is pleased to announce we have secured six of these basses which are now currently available and ready to ship.

These basses were made by a top Japanese luthier that took extraordinary care to get all the details right. The pick guard, bridge cover, pickup rings, and control plate are chrome plated. The control knobs are an exact match to the original. The front of the guitar has a sunburst finish that starts amber in the center, then transitions to a dark reddish tint and finally to dark brown on the outer edge. The front and back edges of the bass have a binding made of light colored figured maple, and the back is a dark walnut color. The body is thicker in the area under the strings than it is on the outside edges, just like the original.

The bass has a slightly longer than 30" scale, and the neck is 1.375 at the nut and 1.875 at the twelfth fret.

A rectangular vinyl covered plush lined hard shell case is included.

With only 100 of these produced for the entire world, and ony ten for the US, this bass is destined to become a collectors piece.
