| Thomastik-Infeld strings are manufactured in Vienna, Austria, and are a popular replacement string often used for that "British Invasion" sound.
North Coast Music is proud to offer the JS Series of Thomastik-Infeld flat wound strings. All of these strings start with a precision made round core made of high carbon steel. Many other manufacturers use a hex core for simplified manufacturing, but Thomastik-Infeld feels that the true round core of their strings vibrates more freely, with no preferred motion axis. The string ends are then silk wrapped, to secure the windings in place and to extend playing life.
The Tomastik-Infeld strings have an actual flat, ribbon wound construction, not a ground wound or compressed winding. The surface is highly polished steel, with a supple and responsive feel.
