  • GENERAL: North Coast Music's on-line web site works just as any other web site you may visit on the Internet. Links are provided on each page so you may navigate between categories and as well each page contains our contact information. You may browse without using the shopping cart feature at all if you so desire.

    The steps that you will be required to follow in order to use the shopping cart are as follows;

      1. Browse or search through our on-line catalog.
      2. Select items for purchase and "Add To The Order".
      3. When you are done selecting items, select "Ring Me Out" from the right hand frame.
      4. Submit your personal information using the order form. Select whether or not you are purchasing on-line or off-line. If you are purchaseing overseas or from Alaska or Hawaii, enter your shipping quote at the bottom of the order form.
      5. After filling out the order form your order will be calculated and depending on whether you are buying on-line or off-line, options will be provided to complete your order.
      6. On-line orders will be passed to a secured server for credit card and personal data security.

    It is strongly recommended that you be using a late version browser such as Netscape 4.x or Internet Explorer 4.x when shopping online. A browser with strong 128 encryption is also a good idea whenever passing important data over the Internet such as credit card information. This site uses Java applets to help with shopping selections as well as using frames. These browsers are available for free from their respective manufacturers for most popular computer platforms. Download these browsers from the Netscape and Microsoft web sites.

    THE SHOPPING CART: You will notice that your browser window is split into two frames. The left frame contains the main web site proper. The right hand page is where any items that you may choose to buy will be displayed and totaled. The left hand page will only contain items you may select from and will never display any order calculations except when you are finalizing your order. Each page contained within the main page (the left hand frame) lists specific items for the pages respective category with each item offering an option to purchase.

    HOW TO SELECT ITEMS: If you choose to purchase an item(s) from the web site, simply select the items and indicate a quantity for the same in the appropriate quantity field. Then click the "Add to the Order" link. You may select items from multiple pages if you desire, we will keep track of your selections as you search or browse.

    It is suggested that, if you desire to purchase multiple different items from any one single page that you select all the items you desire from that page and their respective quantities at one time, then when you are satisfied with your entire selection from that page, click any "Add To The Order" link on that page. Any "Add To The Order" on a single page will submit that entire page's selections to your shopping cart contents page.

    HOW TO PURCHASE: No purchase is ever complete until you are prompted to "Finalize The Order". In all steps proceeding this "Finalize The Order" prompt you will be allowed to empty or clear your selections. In fact, even if you choose to "Finalize The Order" you will have one last chance to abort your purchase.

    The first step is to do of course is, choose the items you desire. Once that is complete, choose "Ring Me Out" from the right hand frame. This will take you to a form page were you will need to start providing us with your shipping information and contact information.

    Once the form is filled out and double checked for accuracy, select "Submit For Processing". You will now be presented with a new page that will show you your order which will have the calculated totals including the shipping charges and if applicable, any sales taxes.

    At this point you may choose to order on-line, FAX, phone or snail mail your order to us. If you choose to use your credit card and our on-line ordering system, simply select "Finalize Order". Your order and your personal data will be passed to an encrypted secured credit card server. You will finally be asked to provide your credit card information and process your order. This will only take a few minutes. After processing, you will be returned to a page that will provide you with a conformation and a link back to our site. You will receive by way of email a second conformation receipt with your order itemized if you choose to provide us with an email address.

    ON-LINE ORDERS: Our encrypted secured server is provided and maintained by the largest merchant card provider in the United States, CardServices International. This server processes your credit card information and authorizes your purchase in a matter of moments. In fact, we don't even receive your credit card information. We just receive an authorization to process your order.

    Not sure about providing credit card information over the Internet? Well, most of the "hype" you have heard about Internet security is just that "hype." Yes, there have been security problems on the Internet and there will probably be more in the future. The truth is, you are protected by your card's fraudulent use policies.

    Most card providers will not require you to pay for any fraudulent charges to your card no matter how that card's information was initially compromised. You are protected by the same policies that you would be as if your wallet or purse was stolen or lost on your local street. Simply contact your card provider if you ever receive any fraudulent credit card charges - whether charged over the Internet or by your local merchant.

    Buying over the Internet is no less dangerous than giving your card to a waiter, buying products over the phone or sending your card information by regular mail.

    Credit card purchases made through The VOX Showroom including North Coast Music and The VOX Showroom Retail will appear on your monthly card statement as "Barking Dog Productions."

    OFF-LINE ORDERS: Off-line orders may be placed by phone, FAX and snail mail. North Coast Music's contact information is included below. In addition, we have provided an official North Coast Music PDF Order Form for your convenience. You must have Abobe's Acrobat Reader browser plugin or stand alone application to use this file. Acrobat Reader is provided for free at Adobe's web site for most computer platforms. Information on how to use the application or plugin is provided on Adobe's web site also.

    Credit card purchases made through The VOX Showroom including North Coast Music and The VOX Showroom Retail will appear on your monthly card statement as "Barking Dog Productions."

    BUGS AND ERRORS: You may be presented with errors from time to time depending on where you are in the purchasing stream. Some of these may include:

    • General data errors. These errors usually occur when a text field has not been filled out and is required to be filled. Solution: return to the field that is in question and re-fill the field. You may have to hit your back button to return to the proper form or field.
    • Document Contains No Data. This is an error with the cgi script that runs the shopping cart. Solution: Usually you can simply re-submit the data by using whatever submit button is provided. You may also have to hit your back button.
    • Network Socket Failure. This is similar to "Document Contains No Data" above. This may also mean that you have lost your Internet connection due to a network error or your browser has crashed.
    • Improper Product Calculations. This is most likely to occur if you double click an "Add To The Order" link or you returned to a previously submitted page and for some reason your previous quantities did not get deleted. Any "Add To The Order" link will submit the entire page. So any previous quantities will be re-submitted if they are not cleared. REMEMBER: All submit and like buttons on web pages are single click buttons. Double clicking on these buttons may double submit your data and possibly double charge you. Please click carefully and be patient. It may tale a few moments for your request to be processed. Solution: You can simply recalculate your totals if this situation occurs. In the right hand page, change the quantity on any mis-totaled and mis-calculated items and click the "Submit Change" link under that item.

    RETURNS AND SATISFACTION POLICIES: Most products come with a 48 hour inspection period that begins with the date and hour the item is delivered. During that period, you many return the merchandise to NCM (North Coast Music) for a full refund, less all actual freight costs incurred. Notify us by email that you wish to return the item within this 48 hour period and we will give you specific return instructions and an RMA number. No returns will be accepted without this RMA number or after the 48 hour period is completed. The product must be returned undamaged, unmodified, in new condition, in all original packaging, freight prepaid, and fully insured. See return exclusions below. We reserve the right to impose a 15% restocking fee plus freight on refused shipments or canceled orders.

    Defective Merchandise: For the first 10 days of ownership, NCM will first determine if there a simple fix (like changing a tube in an amp) that might correct the problem, and supply the needed parts to you at no cost. If this does not correct the defect to your satisfaction, NCM will either replace the item free of charge or pick the item up and provide a full refund to the customer - whichever option NCM elects. After ten days, claims for defective merchandise will be remedied by referal to the manufacturer's warranty service centers. No exchanges are accepted after ten days have passed.

    When your merchandise arrives, inspect the package closely for damage before you sign the shipper's paperwork. If necessary, you may ask the shipper to wait while you unpack and inspect your merchandise. If damaged, you may either refuse the package and have it sent back to North Coast Music, or if you decide to accept the package, you should indicate, in writing, that the package was delivered with some shipping damage before signing the shipper's paperwork. All claims for shortages and reports of cosmetic defects must be reported to NCM within 48 hours of arrival, so please inspect your shipment promptly.

    Some items offered for sale in the NCM web site offer free or partially subsidized shipping. If returned, the customer is responsible to reimburse NCM for our actual and total shipment costs plus you must prepay the return freight charges.

    We do not accept returns or give refunds on the following, as also noted in the online sales descriptions of these items: Vinyl, grill cloth, pipings, and moldings. Electronic parts, schematics, speakers and speaker repair parts. Amp covers and road cases. Special order guitars and amps (the item description online or on your receipt will indicate if your purchase is a special order item). Vox licensed speaker enclosures made by NCM.

    INTERNATIONAL AND U. S. PRIORITY SHIPPING: All shipping calculations in our shopping cart are calculated for continental US domestic ground services only. If you desire International, Alaska, Hawaii or priority one or two day services, please contact us for a shipping quotation. You may then order by phone, FAX, email or snail mail. You may also use our on-line encrypted secured Internet link. There is a field on the form page that will allow you to input a quoted shipping rate. An authorization number is required for this option which will be provided to you at the time of the quote.
