4/8/08 In the past week, two 360/12C63 guitars have arrived and were shipped to the top two customers in the line. 11/13/07 At long last, seven 325C64s have arrived and are being prepped for shipment by North Coast Music. 6/6/07 One 360/12C63 arrived. Jim Gish is a happy guy! 5/1/07 In April, North Coast received and shipped nine 360/12C63 and four 325C64 guitars. 3/1/07 Over the past two weeks, North Coast has received four 360/12C63 guitars. 1/10/07 One 325C64 arrived. 1/9/07 One 325C64 arrived. 11/20/06 Two 325C64s arrived. 10/20/06 One 325C64 arrived. 9/3/06 Two 325C64 and four 1996 guitars arrived. 7/18/06 Four 360/12C63 arrived. 7/16/06 Eight 360/12C63 arrived. 7/14/06 One 360/12C63 arrived. 7/6/06 One 360/12C63 arrived. 6/9/06 I have been told that RIC is planning on making a large run of 360/12C63 guitars in July and August. As I have about fifty on order, I am optimistic that many of our customers will be receiving their double bound Harrison 12 string guitars sometime later in summer. 5/15/06 One more 325C64 guitar arrived. 5/5/06 Two more 325C64 guitars arrived. 4/17/06 Two more 325C64 guitars arrived. That makes fourteen arrivals since introduction. 4/7//06 Four more 325C64 guitars arrived. 3/30/06 One 360/12C63 arrived. 3/28/06 Three more 325C64 arrived. 3/14/06 One more 325C64 arrived. Subtract "5" from your initial number in line for your current placement. 3/08/06 Two more 325C64s arrived. If you are one of the people in line waiting for one of these guitars at North Coast Music, a total of four have been delivered here to this date. Subtract "4" from your initial number in line for your current placement. I will post additional 325C64 and 360/12C63 deliveries as they arrive here. Only seven 360/12C63 FG have arrived to date, FYI. 2/14/06 Here are the photos you all have been waiting to see. This is a real production 325C64, delivered today to North Coast Music. The forty or so people that have made reservations for this guitar at North Coast Music will start receiving their guitars in 2006.
2/10/06 We receive an invoice from RIC in the mail for our first two 325C64 guitars. 1/22/06 Rickenbacker announces in their web site that they have shipped a 325C64 to North Coast Music. 12/12/05 We receive the sixth of the fifty plus RIC 360/12C63 FG guitars that we have on order at RIC. We have not yet received our first 325C64. 10/1/05 It was brought to my attention that John Hall (CEO Rickenbacker International) reported in an online chat room that the first 325C64 has been shipped to a non US RIC distributor. John Hall reports that US shipments will commence after orders that were placed by their export distributors before the US introduction of the 325C64 are completed. Bottom line: the 325C64 is completed and in production, we now will just be waiting our turn in line to get the guitars. I cannot tell you specifically when this will occur. 9/21/05 The deliveries of the 360/12C63 have been slow. Since March 2005, North Coast Music has received five in Fireglo and one in Jetglo. I have no control over the slow process of working through the reservations from customers, but I also know that many RIC dealers have not received even their first 360/12C63. 3/15/05 The first two 360/12C63s arrive at North Coast Music! Here are the pics you have all been waiting to see. 2/25/05 The first shipments of 360/12C63s to US dealers have commenced from RIC. John Hall, the CEO at RIC, reported in one of the online chat rooms recently that only four dealers placed orders for the 360/12C63 when first announced at the 2001 Winter NAMM show. These four dealers would get their NAMM 2001 360/12C63 orders soon. North Coast Music was, of course, one of the dealers that Mr. Hall mentioned in this posting. 1/25/05 I just arrived back from California and the winter NAMM show. After the show concluded, I had the pleasure of visiting the Rickenbacker plant. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. John Hall, the CEO of RIC, and asked him when the 360/12C63 would start shipping to US dealers. As I mentioned in my post of 12/25/04, these started shipping to RIC's export distributors in December 2004. He informed me that they were still working on the orders for export distributors that had been placed prior to the US dealers orders, but that these would start shipping to US dealers fairly soon. I actually saw production 360/12C63 guitars in the process of being built. North Coast Music has about forty of these guitars on order, and about 32 are reserved by customers here. I hope to see them start to arrive here soon, but I do think the entire lot of forty may take a year to arrive. Those higher on my list will receive their guitars first. 12/25/04 It is now official. RIC has started production of the 360/12C53, and some of these guitars have already been shipped to some of RIC's export distributors outside the US. These distributors have been shipped their guitars first as they were the first to order this model, even before the formal introduction at the 2001 Winter NAMM Show. There is reason to believe that these guitars will start shipping to US dealers, including North Coast Music, in January 2005. 12/20/03 There hasn't been much to add to this discussion this year. It appears that no 325C64s or 360/12C63s will be produced in 2003. Word from RIC has it that RIC will release the 325C64 first, and the 360/12C63 last. While RIC is not committing to a production release date on either model, we are optimistic that the 325C64 may be nearing completion and shipping could commence in the first quarter of 2004. The previously released models, the 325C58, the 4001C64 and 4001C64S are all available at North Coast Music, and normally in stock. 2/28/03 Our first production 4001C64S arrives! 12/18/02 Our first production 4001C64 arrives! C Series basses are officially on the market! One of our customers contacted RIC asking for delivery dates on the 325C64 and 360/12C63. RIC responded as follows: "We are just now putting the materials in inventory for the 325C64 and hope to ship before Christmas but there are not guarantees on that.. The 360/12C63 will be the last in the series to ship and certainly next year, hopeful no later than March." 10/31/02 Once again, the big internet music retailer that wants to be your "friend" is indicating that they will have the RIC 325C64 and 360/12C63 in stock on November 11. I sort of doubt this, and I think you will find this information to be false. 10/15/02 North Coast Music has now delivered about ten of the 325C58 guitars to our customers. 9/4/02 I spoke with RIC today, and I was informed that the pickups on the new 325C58 are totally unique to the 325C58, and are not the 7.4k ohm pickups currently installed on other RICs. They have duplicated the pickup winding formula of the 1958 325 model. I was also told that RIC recreated vintage "Astron" brand label stickers that are affixed around the tone capacitors to make even the places you don't see authentic to the originals. RIC also sourced a vendor to make the control pots with the same wiper and tab configuration as the originals. RIC has even recreated the original solder coat on the back of these pots to make them just the same in appearance as the originals. Wow! You can also see the "pull back" cloth wrapped wire they use in the photos below. For those of you that have played the 325V59 or 325V64, you will also be pleasantly surprised at the playability of the neck on this guitar. I must admit, I was never much of a fan of the V Series 325 guitars, but I think the 325C58 is a fabulous playing instrument. To the folks at RIC, I say, "Great job!" 8/30/02 Out first two production 325C58s arrive! C Series is officially on the market! 8/23/02 It will just be a trickle of guitars to start with, but RIC is now starting to ship 325C58 is Mapleglo, Jetglo to follow. 8/8/02 6/18/02 There have been rumors floating around recently apparently spread by a major online retail operation often known as your "friend" that the 325 guitars in Jetglo are due within several; weeks, with Mapleglo coming shortly after. I have checked with my sources, and this info is probably not correct. You might remember that this same online store was promising last October to deliver Vox Valvetronix amps long before they became available. When Vox shipped in December, both your "friend" and North Coast Music had them the very same day. So what is the deal, then? Two weeks is a bit premature, but I have every confidence that the C Series guitars are nearing completion, and will commence shipping this summer. As North Coast Music ordered lots of guitars even before the 2001 NAMM show opened, I expect my customers will be among the first to have their new C Series guitars. RIC has also confirmed I will be one of the first dealers to receive C Series products. RIC has had many delays in this process, but I commend them for being careful to get "it right," rather than just hurry out something that is nor accurate and faithful to the originals. I think it will be well worth the wait. Gary |
