The Model 660/12 features a charactered Maple cutaway body based on the "crested wave" design from the 1950's. Rickenbacker's trademark "checkered" black and white binding sets off the body. North Coast Music tries to keep this model in stock in both Mapleglo and Fireglo. The 660/12 features a "neck through body" design. The neck on the 660/12 features a dual field truss rod assembly, allowing each side of the neck to be adjusted individually. Cross lamination also adds to neck rigidity. The neck is 1 3/4" wide at the nut, and 2 1/16" wide at the twelfth fret, slightly wider than the necks on the 330 through 360 models. The neck is fully bound with solid white binding. Two single pole 7.4k ohm "vintage" Rickenbacker pickups are installed by Rickenbacker on these guitars. These offer that unique Rickenbacker "chime", just like the original '60s models. The twelve saddle micro-adjustable bridge allows for perfect intonation. Schaller tuning keys are standard. The three way pickup selector combines with five rotary controls for volume and tone to offer nearly limitless tonal variations. The guitar features a mono output. Rickenbacker is legendary for their paint finishes. The finishes have a mirror like quality that is extremely resistant to bumps and crazing. All Rickenbacker 660/12 guitar includes a hard shell case with a plush lining. Due to franchise restrictions, we may not ship Rickenbackers outside the US, Canada, and Mexico.
