| The Rickenbacker 325 has always been associated with John Lennon of the Beatles. John bought his first 325 while playing in Hamburg from a local shop. His first 325 was Mapleglo in color, had the deeper body of that period, and featured the Kaufmann Vibrola and "tv" knobs. Soon after John bought this first 325, he started to modify it. He changed the Kauffman Vibrola to a Bigsby, changed the knobs and bridge, and even painted the guitar black.
Rickenbacker now introduces an extremely accurate recreation of that first 325 John Lennon bought, exactly as he first eyed in the the Hamburg music shop. RIC worked more than a year with a team of collector experts in an attempt to get every detail precisely correct on these new 325C58 reissues. These guitars are available in Mapleglo and Jetglo. North Coast will generally stock both colors. The 325C58 "Hamburg" features three single pole vintage style "toaster" Rickenbacker pickups. These pickups feature a scatter wound design and 7.4k ohm windings, just as the originals from the 50s. The micro-adjustable bridge with individual string saddles allows for perfect intonation. Also included is a hardshell case covered in silver vinyl covering with black vinyl endcaps. The cases also feature a plush lining to protect the guitar. Due to franchise restrictions, we may not ship Rickenbackers outside the US, Canada, and Mexico.
