 Fine instruments are best manufactured from tight grained, high quality woods with lots of flame. This wood then needs to be seasoned (properly dried) so that the guitar will be stable after completion. The picture at left shows one of hundreds of pallets of wood in the seasoning process in Hofner's drying area.

Much of this wood is actually seasoned for 30 years before use!
