Pictured below is our current inventory of Hofner 500/1 Contemporary Limited Edition basses in natural finish. These are very similar in appearance to the German made Hofner Deluxe Bass.
The Hofner Contemporary Beatle Bass includes genuine Hofner H511B Hofner Bass staple pickups and surrounds - the same pickup installed in the German made Hofner V62 and V63 Beatle basses. The bridge, pickguard, and tuners installed on the Contemporary Beatle bass are made in China, but are very close in appeararnce and function to the V63 German made Beatle Bass components.
German made Hofner Beatle basses all have a "zero" fret, as does the Contemporary bass.
German made Hofner V63 and V62 basses both have a cantilevered neck extension that rises away from the body to allow the genuine "Hofner Beatle Bass guitar strap" to be used. The Contemporary bass has this same cantilvered neck extension.
Regarding the coloration of the finishes on Hofner CTT basses: The color shades you see on your monitor may not reflect the actual hue and contrast of the guitar, as this is affected by how your monitor is adjusted. Our Hofner bass photos are color adjusted on a color corrected computer monitor, but your monitor settings may not necessarily mirror ours.
Before shipment. North Coast Music sets up each bass, adjusting it for proper intonation and action. The truss rods are adjusted for minimum relief.
