I wanted to let you know that I received my Hofner V62 yesterday in perfect condition. I also want to say I am very happy I purchased it from North Coast. I really appreciate your attention to detail and customer service. The extra care you provided from the presentation on your site to the information packet and lightning fast shipping made this a first class experience. Oh yeah, and I plugged it in to my bass pod and SVT last night and it sounds fantastic. It’s a player.

Vintage 62 Hofner Bass
If you are looking for the Hofner bass that is essentially identical to the model played by Paul McCartney, you are looking for the Hofner Vintage 62 Bass.
The top of the V62 Beatle Bass is carved German spruce, and the sides and back are made from highly flamed German maple. It is then finished in a deep sunburst top
ped with a highly lustrous clear lacquer. The picture showing the rear of the bass gives an excellent example of the flaminess of the wood used building these instruments.
A white perloid pickguard, control panel, and white body molding accent the
sunburst finish.
Two of the venerable "staple" pickups are standard. These are an exact
replication of the pickups used on H500 basses in the early sixties, before
the change to the less desirable bar style pickups of the later sixties and
onward.
A two piece European maple neck is faithful to the original neck design from 1962. The neck is slightly thicker (about 1/8") from the top of the unbound rosewood fret board to the rear center of the back radius when compared to the thinner neck of a Hofner Vintage 63 Bass. This slightly "deeper" neck is often preferred by players for its more substantial feel and stability.
The neck is based on a 30" (or 3/4) scale.
Just the like original 1962 H500 basses, strip tuners are standard.
A vintage style Hofner hard shell case is included. A left handed model is available for the same cost.
The bass comes with Hofner branded flat wound strings made for Hofner by a famous German string manufacturer.
