I don't see a shopping cart on the right side of the screen! - If you do not see the shopping cart on the right side of the screen, you probably entered our website through a search engine or a link someone sent you. The shopping cart is only turned on by entering the website through our main address at www.northcoastmusic.com. Click on this link, and try again. Odds are, everything will work now.
Web TV Users - If you are tring to order on WebTV, we apologize. The shopping cart will not work on WebTV. Perhaps sometime in the future, Microsoft will provide a secure browser for use with their Web TV. At this time, it is our opinion there is inadequate credit card security to even suggest ordering online through WebTV.
"Give it a few minutes!" - If you are having a problem, sometimes if you just log off and try again in five minutes, things will work fine.
Java Script Errors - If you receive Java script errors, there are a number of possible problems.
Java script errors are common with outdated internet browsers. For Windows machines, you should have Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater, Netscape 5.0 or greater to operate our shopping cart. Updating your browser will probably resolve your problem,.and give you the additional benefit of increased credit card security for all your online transactions.
Windows 3.11 combined with Netscape 3.x exhibits java script errors in the shopping cart. So does Mac OS 8.x combined with Internet Explorer 4.5.
If you update your computer to eliminate these combinations, you will probably resolve your problem.
Microsoft has announced that Internet Explorer 6.0 will not be Java enabled. Microsoft is pushing their own Direct X system to replace Java. As our shopping cart uses Java scripts to run calculations and manage the contents of the shopping cart, Internet Exporer 6.0 users may find it impossible to order online from North Coast Music at this time. Our apologies, we are working on the problem.
Lastly, there are configuration issues inside your computer that may simply make it difficult to order online. However, if you email North Coast Music with the specific problem you are having with the shopping cart, we will try to help you out.
General data errors. These errors usually occur when a text field has not been filled out and is required to be filled. Solution: return to the field that is in question and re-fill the field. You may have to hit your back button to return to the proper form or field.
Document Contains No Data. This is an error with the cgi script that runs the shopping cart. Solution: Usually you can simply re-submit the data by using whatever submit button is provided. You may also have to hit your back button.
Network Socket Failure. This is similar to "Document Contains No Data" above. This may also mean that you have lost your Internet connection due to a network error or your browser has crashed.
Improper Product Calculations. This is most likely to occur if you double click an "Add To The Order" link or you returned to a previously submitted page and for some reason your previous quantities did not get deleted. Any "Add To The Order" link will submit the entire page. So any previous quantities will be re-submitted if they are not cleared. REMEMBER: All submit and like buttons on web pages are single click buttons. Double clicking on these buttons may double submit your data and possibly double charge you. Please click carefully and be patient. It may tale a few moments for your request to be processed. Solution: You can simply recalculate your totals if this situation occurs. In the right hand page, change the quantity on any mis-totaled and mis-calculated items and click the "Submit Change" link under that item.
Fax/Snail Mail Order Form - We offer an order form in Adobe Acrobat (*.pdf) that will help you in ordering by fax or by snail mail. Click here for a copy of that form.
Be sure to use the "Print" button inside the Adobe Acrobat window, or you will not get the order form from your printer.
We do not offer phone service, this is primarily a self service, e-commerce site.
