Pete Best has been touring the world with his "Best of the Beatles" show. Part of the performance is a musical and part is conversational.

Pete's band uses two T-100 cabs, manufactured by North Coast Music under license to Vox UK, along with the North Coast Music T-100 chrome trolley to complete that early "Beatle" look.

Along with Vox, Premier, and Hofner, North Coast Music is proud to be a sponsor of the "Pete Best- Best of the Beatles" show.

That's me, "Doctorvox," North Coast Music owner, at left with Phil "Fang" Volk, formerly of Paul Revere and The Raiders. Phil will be getting his new Hofner Club Bass through North Coast Music.

Phil is absolutely one of the nicest people I have ever met in the music business, and I am proud to call him a friend.

If you have a copy of the 1967 or 1968 US Vox product catalog, Phil "Fang" Volk is on the cover.

Fang has a great website at www.philfangvolk.com, and he'd love you all to see it!

Fang also has a new band, "Fang and the Gang," and they are currently playing around Las Vegas. Last January I had the honor of spending a portion of an afternoon jamming with Fang and Ken from the band. They are stunning musicians, and you really should plan on seeing "the gang" next time you are in Las Vegas. Check Fang's website, www.philfangvolk.com, for schedule information.

Fang and the Gang will be playing in Las Vegas at the Treasure Island Casino on Oct 31 and Boulder Stations Railhead on New Years Eve.

Frequent visitors to North Coast Music are one of the finest Beatles tribute Bands around, the Britins.

This fabulous band does all the Beatles material from "Cry for a Shadow" through "Let It Be."

They knocked me out with a flawless, detailed performance of "I Am the Walrus."

Mike "John" Shumway recently purchased a Vox Valvetronix amp from North Coast Music in one of our new all baltic birch "AC-30" style combo cabs for the AD120VT. This allows the Britins to have all the tone and versatility of the AD120VT along with the classic brown grill cloth look of the AC-30 as used by the Beatles.

The picture at left shows Mike taking delivery of his new Valvetronix amp in our AC-30 style combo cab.at the North Coast Music store.

The original AD120VT cabinet uses a permanently glued baffle board assembly, making changing the grill cloth quite impossible.

Additionally, the dovetail jointed baltic bitch cabinet actually weighs less than the original AD120VT enclosure.

Members of the Britins have also purchased an AC-30, a T60 with an AC-50 head, and a Hofner bass from North Coast Music.

See their website at www.thebritins.com for schedule info.

At left you can see "1964 - The Tribute" in their Carnegie Hall appearance in December 2003. 1964 - The Tribute is performing with the backline of Vox gear that they purchased from North Coast Music. This backline recrates the gear used by the Beatles in their legendary first Shea Stadium concert in New York City.

Do you remember the Animals hit from 1964, "The House of the Rising Sun?" The guitarist that played the legendary guitar intro to that song was the Animals original guitarist, Hilton Valentine. If you have a copy of the 1967 or 1968 US Vox product catalog, Hilton is on the cover. The Animals used Vox amps and organs exclusively.

When Hilton Valentine wanted to purchase a new Vox AC-30TBX, he chose North Coast Music for his purchase. Thanks, Hilton!

See Hilton's website at www.hiltonvalentine.com for more pics, history, and schedule info on performances.

This is me (left) with Alan Parsons. While you might know Alan from his famous solo career with "The Alan Parsons Project," it might interest you to know that Alan was the assistant producer for the Beatles "Abbey Road" album. In fact, it was Alan that used a scissors to cut the tape for the ending of "I Want You (She's So Heavy), as instructed by John Lennon.

Take my advice, and buy all of the Alan Parsons albums! I'd recommend "Turn of a Friendly Card," and "On Air" for starters. These are fabulous redcordings from the master himself.

Alan Parsons "The Avenue" website may be accessed by clicking here.

Jennifer Pirch of the Gore Gore Girls from Detroit purchased her red Burns Bison bass from North Coast Music. The Gore Gore Girls are a fabuolus national act you have got to see!

From the north shore area of Chicago comes BtitBeat, a Beatles tribute band featuring North Coast Music customer Chris Getsla on bass guitar. BritBeat is quite ususual as the members are in their twenties, just as the Beatles were when they first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

Chris purchased a Cavern Bass, a North Coast Music Vox licensed T100 speaker cab, and a North Coast Music Vox licensed AC-100 head cabinet for use with his performances with BritBeat.

See their website at www.britbeat.com.

A former frequent North Coast Music customer was the late Doug Fieger from The Knack. Doug died in 2010 from cancer. Doug wrote and sang all the famous Knack hits, such as "My Sharona" and "Good Girls Don't."

When one talks about the top Beatle tribute bands in the US, American English from Chicago are certainly on the top of the list. Eric, the bassist, plays through two T-100 enclosures, manufactured by North Coast Music under license from Vox UK.

Eric purchased both his lefty Hofner Cavern Bass and V62 bass from North Coast. At left is Eric in the North Coast Music store taking delivery of his new V62 lefty, which he also purchased at North Coast Music.

2004 was the first year for the Liverpool Legends, which features several former members of another famous Beatle tribute band.

There is quite a buzz about the Liverpool Legends being a fabulous Beatles tribute act, in fact, they are associated with Louise Harrison, the late George Harrison's sister.

Visit the Liverpool Legends website for schedule information by clicking on www.liverpoollegends.com.

No one has traveled a greater distance to visit North Coast Music than Zbynek Maulis.

Last fall, Zbynek boarded an airplane from the Czech Republic to come to NCM and to purchase a T100 enclosure. While there have been others that have travelled to North Coast from far away, no one has been able to beat Zbynek!

Zbynek plays in a Beatles tribute band, and you can see him in the picture at lower left.

His band is called "Tribute to the Beatles." Check out that bass drum head very carefully. Where the words "Ludwig" appeared on Ringo's set, you can read the words "Tribute to." Pretty cool idea, don't you think?

So if you are in Prague, make sure to check them out!

This is my good friend, Jessica Lui, who visited the North Coast Music store on August 1, 2006. Jessica is known around the Milwaukee WI area as the "sixth Britin," as she helps me play tamborine and keyboard parts in the Britins' shows. As she likes to tell her friends...and the Britins...."I'm with the band."
