FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT VINTAGE VOX GEAR AND REPLACEMENT PARTS

FAQ1: HOW OLD is my vintage amp, organ or guitar, can you provide any INFORMATION or OPINIONS on a vintage amp, guitar, or organ, or how much is a vintage amp, organ, or guitar WORTH?
A: I do not offer any of this sort of information, sorry. As I do not sell vintage gear, I do not follow market prices or offer any informational support or opinions on such items, nor is North Coast Music a vintage amp or guitar informational web site.

However, I will be happy to answer all questions that pertain to items sold at North Coast Music.

FAQ2: I just noticed a cool vintage or used Vox amp (or organ, guitar, effect, etc) I would like to buy on eBay (or Craig's List, the newspaper classfieds, or music store). I have questions about this item. Is there anything I should know about this item prior to purchase?
A: I do not offer any of this sort of information, sorry. North Coast Music is a retailer of unique Vox products and parts, but not a Vox consultation service. I reserve the use of my time for customers that are asking for information about items sold here, and I do not comment on eBay auctions and the like.

FAQ3: Does North Coast Music sell or ever have leads on VINTAGE GUITARS, ORGANS, or AMPS?
A: I do not offer vintage guitars, organs, or amps, nor will we have leads where to find the same.

FAQ4: Does North Coast Music sell cosmetic, electronic repair parts, schematics, or trolleys for vintage Vox amps?

I do not offer any parts not shown in my web site.

FAQ5: Does North Coast Music sell NOS or reissue parts for vintage for new Vox guitars?
A: North Coast Music does not offer any parts for Vox guitars, nor do we have any source for the same. Click here for more information on Vox guitar parts.

FAQ6: Can you help me to REPAIR, MODIFY, OR "HOT ROD" MY VINTAGE VOX AMP, EFFECT, GUITAR OR ORGAN?...What size fuse does my amp need?...Can you help me with tube placement...Can you suggest sources for repair parts not offered in the North Coast Music website.....etc.

A: North Coast Music does not offer repairs or service advice on vintage or new Vox amplifiers. However, I recommend Victor Mason at the Plexi Palace for the best repairs on Vox tube amps in the United States. In my opinion, there is no better place to have your vintage Vox tube AC-4 through AC-100 serviced. Contact Victor Mason at www.plexipalace.com.

Additionally, I will always be happy provide prompt and personal technical assistance, help, and advice for any item purchased from North Coast Music, even years after the sale to the original purchaser.

For warranty and non warranty service on new Vox amps I suggest you click here to find Vox service centers at the online Korg Service Center Locator. North Coast Music offers the electronic schematics online for most vintage Vox amps to help a local service person fix your older Vox amp. Click here for a link to these Vox schematics.

The only Vox repair parts I offer are those shown in the North Coast Music web site. I do not offer suggestions to find Vox parts not offered here.

FAQ7: Does North Coast Music RECOVER or REGRILL amps?
A: I do not offer these services. I suggest Gregg Hopkins at Vintage Amp Restoration. Email him at vintageamp@aol.com.

FAQ8: Does North Coast Music offer VOX ORGAN POWER CORDS or ROTARY POWER SWITCHES for American Vox amps such as the Super Beatle, Royal Guardsman, Buckingham, and Viscount?
A: I have not been able to find a source organ power cords for Italian made (two prong) Vox organs. Vox organs made in the UK often used the three pin "Bulgin" connector on the organ end of the power cord. Click here to purchase the Bulgin power plug.

There is no known source of supply for the specialized rotary power switch for Vox amp heads, as used the Super Beatle and similar models.
