FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT RICKENBACKER GUITARS, BASSES, AND PARTS

FAQ1: Why are deliveries of RIC guitars and basses taking so long?
A: The answer is very simple. World wide demand for RIC guitars and basses is outstripping the ability of the RIC plant to produce enough guitars to meet demand in the world.

FAQ2: Any idea when you will be getting the next RIC (insert RIC model number here) guitar or bass? Come on..what's your best guess?
A: I have no idea whatsoever. RIC just ships when an dealer order is completed. They do not provide any advance info regarding the scheduling and shipments of their instruments to dealers. If you have recently enetered the market looking to purchase a new RIC guitar or bass, you will soon find that that you will be most likely be waiting for a while. I suspect you may wait one to three years, depending on the model. To see what RIC models I have in stock at this time for immediate delivery, click here.

FAQ3: What RIC models are in stock for IMMEDIATE SHIPMENT?
A: Click here to see our "in stock" RIC inventory.

A: Due to the extremely long lead time for deliveries from Rickenbacker, North Coast Music has decided to no longer accept deposits or advance orders for RIC guitars or basses. Arrivals of new RIC instruments will now be posted at the "RICs in Stock at North Coast Music" web page.

Those customers that have previously made advance order deposits and are still waiting for their RIC guitars or basses to arrive will be contacted by North Coast Music as soon as their instruments arrive.

FAQ6: Why do you double box all Rickenbacker guitars and basses pior to shipment?
A: Double boxing is the very best way to insure that your RIC guitar or bass bass arrives safely and without damage.

FAQ7: Did RIC actually DISCONTINUE the 4001C64 and 4001C64S basses?
A: Yes, these models were officially retired in late January 2009. However, North Coast Music has a total of over twenty four 4001C64 and 4001C64S (right handed only) basses on order, and RIC will honor these orders. These basses will become available for purchase over the next year or two at North Coast Music as RIC produces them. Please watch the "RICs in Stock at North Coast Music" web page. No left handed 4001 basses will be available, sorry.

Those customers that previously made deposits on 4001C64 and 4001C64S basses need not worry. Their orders are unaffected, and I will contact you as soon as your bass arrives.

A: Click here to read the enire RIC warranty declaration for products sold by US dealers. This warranty only applies to the UNited Sates and Canada.

FAQ9: I do not live in either the United States or Canada. Can North Coast Music sell me RIC guitars, basses, parts, or strings?
A: No, I cannot, due to Rickenbacker US franchise limitations. RIC is very firm about this policy, and North Coast Music respects their wishes.

FAQ10: What is the difference in tone between the Rickenbacker HI GAIN and VINTAGE PICKUPS?
A: The RIC 7.4K ohm Vintage Pickups are chimier in tone and were the pickups that were used by the Beatles and the Byrds, among other 60s groups. This was the only pickup offered on RIC six and twelve string guitars in the mid 1960s. The modern RIC Hi -Gain pickups have greater output and can be heard in recent recordings by REM and Hootie and the Blowfish, among others. They have a bit more mid, and a bit less high end when compared to the RIC Vintage Pickup upgrade.

FAQ11: Does North Coast Music offer any LH (left handed) Rickenbacker guitars or basses?
A: Unfortunately, no, we do not. Currently, RIC is not even accepting orders from dealers for LH insruments..
