"The Strangers" - 1965 - Lakewood, WA



Lyle Berry sent in this 1965 photo of the "Strangers" from Lakewood WA. Lyle was the bass guitarist. He played a Vox Cougar bass through a Vox Westminister cabinet and a Vox Foundation (AC-50) head. They also used a Vox Lynx guitar and a pink Vox 12 string.

Lyle Berry continues the with a brief history of the Strangers. "Evolving from the Wild Vibrations, The Strangers did covers of British Invasion stuff. We played at a lot of wild frat parties at University of Puget Sound (UPS) and at various local high school dances. The Strangers incorporated Alan Winslow (later of Shiloh) on lead guitar and vocals, Mark Stubbs on vocals, Cordell Covert on rhythm and vocals, Tommy Thompson on 12 string rhythm, Pat Bohle (Sky Boys) on drums. Don was a Clover Park 1964 alumni. "
